Free Legacy

Legacy, an Italian-built 158-foot sailboat designed for circumnavigation is the passion of its owner, Peter Halmos.  Tragically, through unscripted acts of nature, Legacy was marooned in Key West, Florida in 2005. More tragic still, Legacy has been held hostage for the past four years due to calculated acts of GREED by one of the largest insurance companies in the world.

Peter Halmos has stood by Legacy through each and every obstacle, refusing to abandon the boat that saved his life. Yet Legacy remains chained to Key West, the victim of a paper war and unable to move to a place where she can be restored. Nevertheless, while her beauty may be bruised, her spirit and that of her owners remains resolved to do the right thing – which is to free Legacy, return her to her former glory, and sail with her grace on the high seas.
